Peterborough's former Voice Kids finalist George Elliott launches debut single with band Idle Hive
Back in 2020, Walton teenager George Elliott reached the final of ITV's The Voice Kids under the mentorship of McFly star and future I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! winner Danny Jones. Although George finished as runner-up, his performances won widespread praise and captured the support of viewers across Peterborough.

Six years later, George is now the frontman of rising teen indie-rock band Idle Hive, whose energetic live performances and growing social media following are attracting attention across the UK.
The band features lead guitarist and social media sensation Josh Scott (15), bassist Myah Scott (16), both from Grantham, and drummer James Roland (16) from Sleaford. Together, they have built a strong following through live shows, original music and viral content on TikTok and Instagram.
Idle Hive recently caught the attention of Liverpool-based promoters We Believe Music, who have included the band on line-ups in Sheffield, Manchester and other venues around the country. Income generated from their growing online presence has helped fund studio recording sessions for the band's original material.
The group's debut single, Blood in My Margarita, will be released on 26 June 2026. Teasers shared on social media have already generated significant interest, with a growing number of pre-saves across streaming platforms.
To celebrate the release, Idle Hive will host a free single launch party at The Lime Tree, Walton, from 7pm on Thursday 25 June. The band will perform two 45-minute sets featuring original songs alongside crowd-pleasing covers that have been winning over audiences wherever they play.
Music fans can support the band by attending the launch event and following @idlehiveband on social media.
