New youth group opens at The Green Backyard
A new youth group for 16-20 year olds has opened at The Green Backyard, on Oundle Road. The group is part of the national Woodcraft Folk movement and offers young people a chance to have fun whilst learning about and taking action on the issues that matter to them. The group meets every Monday evening from 6-7.30pm and is welcoming new members.

Woodcraft Folk is the UK co-operative youth organisation for children and young people that has been going for a century. Every week thousands of volunteers and young people come together at their local group. There they learn about big ideas through fun activities like singing, camping, playing and debating.
As well as the group for 16-20 year olds, Peterborough Woodcraft Folk are looking for volunteers to help them set up and run more groups for younger age groups at the site.

Pip Gardner, the volunteer co-ordinating the group, said: "This space gives young people a chance to connect with their peers offline and engage in projects like growing veg in our shared allotment. There's also lots of camps and events coming up this summer so young people will have a chance to also do activities with other groups from across the UK."
