Platform Home Ownership has partnered with five-star homebuilder Allison Homes to deliver 57 homes through the affordable scheme at Hartley Mere off Drybread Road, just six miles east of the city.

The launch of the high-quality collection follows successful collaborations between Platform and Allison Homes in the bordering counties of Norfolk and Lincolnshire, and buyers can purchase their homes at an initial share between 10% and 75%, paying a deposit and mortgage against that share and rent on the remainder.

Hartley Mere offers see two-, three- and four-bedroom properties available in detached, semi-detached and terraced styles, helping to meet the ever-growing demand for affordable solutions in the Peterborough region.

Platform, a leading housing association, has also brought 57 Shared Ownership homes to the market just 12 miles away at Haddon Abbott, part of the Great Haddon masterplan, where fewer than five homes remain.

Kelly Rigley, Regional Sales Manager at Platform Home Ownership, said: “Having worked with Allison Homes on many fruitful schemes in the past, we’re pleased to be reconvening our strong relationship to widen affordable choice for Peterborough.

“We understand the strength of Peterborough’s appetite for accessible routes onto the property ladder, which more generally are often heightened in times of economic uncertainty. Shared Ownership offers a solution for many who may have thought their dream of homeownership was out of reach.”

Sophie Kendal, Land and Partnerships Director at Allison Homes Central, said: “We’re always pleased to partner with Platform Home Ownership, and this relationship has previously supported a diverse group of homeseekers to find their ideal space.

“Whittlesey is uniquely positioned, with a great balance of rural, outdoor interests against the larger nearby settlements of Peterborough and March.

“We look forward to seeing the first Shared Ownership occupants move in and benefit from everything this development has to offer.”

Whittlesey is a market town awash with character and vibrancy, and has hosted an annual three-day Straw Bear Festival since 1980, which pulls in visitors from wider Cambridgeshire and beyond.

Hartley Mere lies to the town’s northeast, near to the home of Whittlesey Athletic FC, Fenland Aqua Park and Lattersey Local Nature Reserve, while the town hosts plenty of schools for all ages, as well as spaces for eating and drinking out.

Peterborough offers a wide range of amenities, including shopping at Queensgate, independent cafes and restaurants, family attractions such as Ferry Meadows Country Park, and a range of primary and secondary schools.
