Cambridgeshire housebuilder donates £24,000 to children’s hospice
“We are incredibly proud to have raised such a significant amount for such a deserving cause. It was a fantastic evening enjoyed by all, but what made it truly special was knowing the money raised will make a real difference to children and families who rely on the exceptional care provided by Helen & Douglas House"
A housebuilder in Cambridgeshire has raised £24,000 to help a children’s hospice continue its vital work.

The total was reached by Redrow South Midlands – which is building at Alconbury Weald II in Huntingdon, All Saints Gardens in Barrington and Tudor Meadow in Sawston – during its annual charity gala, with all funds donated to its charity of the year, Helen & Douglas House.
This donation will enable the local charity to continue its vital work supporting terminally ill children and their families in Oxfordshire and surrounding counties, helping them to create lasting memories together.
Olivia Crawford, Corporate Partnerships Executive, said: “We are so grateful to Redrow South Midlands for hosting their fantastic charity ball in support of Helen & Douglas House and raising an incredible £24,000.
“It costs £6 million each year to fund the specialist care we provide. We rely on the generosity and commitment of local businesses and supporters like Redrow South Midlands to help fund our vital work, ensuring we can provide specialist care to children with life-limiting conditions and compassionate support for their families. Support like this helps us be there for families when they need us most. We are truly grateful."
The event brought together subcontractors, suppliers and consultants in support of the charity.
The evening featured a raffle, silent auctions and an interactive auction game, with all proceeds contributing to the final total. Guests also enjoyed entertainment along with a three-course meal.
Andrew Newman, Sales Director at Redrow South Midlands, said: “We are incredibly proud to have raised such a significant amount for such a deserving cause. It was a fantastic evening enjoyed by all, but what made it truly special was knowing the money raised will make a real difference to children and families who rely on the exceptional care provided by Helen & Douglas House.
“It was our pleasure to support the hospice and help ensure it can continue its vital work. A huge thank you to all the businesses and supporters who donated prizes and made the night so memorable.”
