Revamped indoor bouldering wall to re-open in Peterborough almost a year after major sewage leak

It was almost a year ago that staff at Peterborough’s indoor bouldering wall were confronted with the smelly devastation of a major sewage leak.

An old, disused sewage pipe burst behind one of the walls in April 2025, causing flooding and damage to the room, and ultimately forcing its closure.

Now the firm behind the facility – Angle Entertainment – has announced its new and improved double-sized bouldering wall will re-open with a special event this weekend.

The new wall represents an investment of around £40,000 for the company, which was taken over by its current owners in August last year.

"The whole of your Angle team are excited to be able to reopen the Boulding wall on Saturday,” a spokesperson for Angle Entertainment said.

"Our stunning new indoor wall will add another great activity to the City of Peterborough and combined with our Escape rooms, Axe throwing and TCG lounge we offer a real destination for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy some fantastic activities indoors. From everyone at Angle, we look forward to seeing you soon!”

They added: “Work has been underway since we took over in August. The team has put a huge amount of hard work into getting it completed. It is now ready for the weekend and we think it looks stunning and is a big upgrade on the previous version.”

The grand re-opening begins at 10am on Saturday, April 18.
