Peterborough’s Sacrewell Farm to re-open

One of Peterborough’s best loved attractions will open its doors again next month.

Sacrewell Farm has been shut through the lockdown, but today confirmed part of the site will re-open on Saturday, July 4.

There will also be an Annual Pass and Summer Pass Holders only day on Friday July 3.

The farm will initially only open at weekends, with a pre-booked ticketing system in place, and limited numbers allowed in at the same time.

General manager, Lee Scowen, said: “We are really looking forward to welcoming families back onto the site, we’ve risk-assessed all possible outcomes in order for us to be able to reopen on the weekend of July 4, in line with advice from the Government.

“In order to do so we will be capping the number of people on site at any one time, cleaning thoroughly between sessions and utilising the beautiful outdoor spaces that we have here at Sacrewell to create the wonderful experiences that our visitors are used to.”

“On July 4 and 5 O8 will be operating a pop up paella stand in the grounds of the farm as well as offering take away refreshments from the O8 cafe. Family picnic boxes are available to order on their website origin8delicafes.com”

With indoor play areas not yet able to open, there will be interactive walking trails to learn about for visitors to take part in during their session, themed around the site’s history, heritage, rare breed farm animals and award winning outdoor play.

Lee added: “We hope to increase the number of days we’re open for over the following weeks, based on Government guidelines and continued risk assessments for both our staff

“Despite the current circumstances, this is still going to be a really exciting year for Sacrewell Farm with some wonderful projects in process.”

Sessions will run from: 9am – noon and 1pm until 4pm and tickets must be pre-booked at www.sacrewell.org.uk
