Peterborough’s Festival of Antiques returns to the city

The Festival of Antiques returned to the East of England showground this Friday and Saturday and brought with it a host of buyers looking to pick up a bargain.

The event usually comes to Peterborough twice a year and was scheduled to do so in April but had to be cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The antiques market was the first event hosted at the showground that included indoor exhibits after Motorhome and Camper Sale and Truckfest took place exclusively outdoors.

A series of measures were in place to ensure the event ran safely and they included socially-distanced queues, larger and spaced out stalls, hand sanitising stations and visitors were discouraged from handling items of stock without permission.

International traders were also advised to stay away.

Despite the differences to previous years, visitors were still able to browse a wide variety of unique antiques, both inside and outside.
