The venue, run by Raj and Neera Regmi since 2013, focuses on popular dining out favourites featuring local producers and suppliers.

The Regmis, who also run Ferry Meadows Café, have now invested a total of £104,000 in the two properties. The latest updates made to the family run business include a new covered area with sliding doors that lead to the decked outdoor area where customers can sit with pets to keep dry in the rain.

The new area also increases the capacity of Lakeside for events during the winter months. Further improvements to this outdoor area are planned in September with a log burner set to be installed.

Along with a fresh lick of paint, local artist, Lee Mason was commissioned to hand decorate the interior of Lakeside Kitchen & Bar.

Raj Regmi is looking forward to sharing the changes with customers. He said: “Since we opened our doors in 2013 we’ve been serving great homemade food with a commitment to local suppliers. We’ve been overwhelmed by the response we’ve had. The number of transactions are up on last year and the venue is becoming more popular for event bookings.”

Raj added: “We’re delighted to be able to continue investing in and improving the site for everyone to enjoy.”

In addition to the remodelling of Lakeside, the Regmis have purchased a food van that is located by the new Badger play area at Ferry Meadows. The van will serve a variety of food, including sandwiches, cakes, ice creams as well as hot and cold drinks.

Lakeside’s owners are also keen to increase their network of salad and vegetable growers and are asking for local suppliers to get in touch with them.
