Free Armed Forces Day event in Peterborough’s Cathedral Square to feature Battle of Britain Memorial flypast
The event will take place on Saturday, June 27
A free Armed Forces Day event in Peterborough’s Cathedral Square will feature a flypast from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.
This year’s city centre celebrations will take place on Saturday, June 27, between 10am and 5pm.
The event will begin with a civic parade to kick off a day of family fun, including live entertainment and music.
Those in attendance can browse charity stalls manned by cadet, active service and veterans groups.
Military vehicles and displays will also be present in Cathedral Square.
Attendees will be treated to a flypast from the iconic Battle of Britain Memorial Flight during the day, with exact timings to be confirmed in due course.
Entry to the event is free, although donations to military charities are encouraged.
First observed in the UK in 2006, Armed Forces Day is held on the final Saturday of June each year to celebrate the Armed Forces, past, present and future.
