A virtual tour will highlight the impact two Peterborough coffee companies are making in the Fairtrade movement.

As part of this year’s Fairtrade Fortnight - which is themed on climate change - both Masteroast in Fengate and Select Coffee Services in Orton Southgate are inviting coffee lovers behind the scenes of their operations via Zoom.

The online event is being held on Thursday, February 25, from 12.30pm to 1.30pm where you can see the process from green coffee bean to being placed in recycled/compostable packaging.

Fairtrade means farmers getting guaranteed minimum prices, with communities across the globe able to earn a Fairtrade premium and decide how they want to spend it.

This can include providing new health facilities for people living in poor areas and better education to reduce pesticide use.
