Bringing folk-punk energy back to The Met Lounge after 14 years

British folk/punk band Skinny Lister will be back on stage at Peterborough’s Met Lounge in November after a 14-year absence.

Fusing folk/punk energy with shanties and singalongs the band has earned quite a reputation for raucous, good-time shows.

This autumn they bring their riotous live performances to venues across the UK – including The Met on November 1 – to celebrate 10 years of their renowned third album The Devil, The Heart & The Fight. Marking the anniversary, the band will play the album in full, alongside a selection of fan favourites and live classics.

These nights promise to be close-up and immersive - sweat on the walls, glasses raised, and the kind of atmosphere that thrives in tight, electric spaces.

Everything is set for a proper celebration in true Skinny Lister party style.

The band formed in London in 2009, originating from the Greenwich folk scene, with founding members Dan Heptinstall, Lorna Thomas, and Max Thomas shaping their distinctive sound. Their early years were marked by relentless touring and festival appearances, earning them the title of "Hardest Working Band in the UK" in 2011. Their debut album, Forge & Flagon, released in 2012, showcased their shanty-inspired folk anthems and established them as a force in the folk-punk scene.

Over the years, Skinny Lister has continued to evolve, incorporating rock and indie elements into their music while maintaining their signature folk-punk energy. Albums like Down on Deptford Broadway (2014) and The Devil, The Heart, & The Fight (2016) expanded their sound, leading to international tours and collaborations with bands like Flogging Molly and Frank Turner.
