Summer of music and open air theatre in the Cambridgeshire countryside

Nestled within 120 acres of peaceful Cambridgeshire countryside, a popular summer theatre programme of open-air performances for all the family will be performed in a hillside amphitheatre at Waresley Park Estate.

This year’s performances will include children’s classics like The Tales of Peter Rabbit and Benjamin Button, The Wind in the Willows and The Railway Children. There will also be raucous pantomime fun with Aladdin, as well as a gothic makeover of the Shakespearean classic, Much Ado About Nothing.

Alongside the performances, guests can pre-order delicious food and drinks, including a charcuterie board, afternoon tea or a bottle of wine, made with locally sourced produce and curated by the Estate’s Head Chef, Ed Forrest-Brown.

The full list of amphitheatre performances are as follows:

The Wind in the Willows, May 31 and July 31; Aladdin, July 25; The Railway Children, July 31 and August 21; Yara in the Wild Wood, August 14, 2pm and 4pm; Much Ado About Nothing, August 15; The King’s Cake, August 16; The Tales of Peter Rabbit and Benjamin Bunny, August 29.

As well as the programme of theatrical performances, every Sunday afternoon from 21 June to 30 August, visitors can dine in the Courtyard and enjoy live music from artists including Isobel Pearce Jazz, Tim Rose and Will Robert.

Jo Bell, Operations Manager at Waresley Park Estate, said: “Our amphitheatre is such a special space, nestled amongst the vines of the vineyard, and we are delighted to present this year’s programme of summer entertainment. Each performance has been carefully chosen so that both friends and families can create magical summer memories together. From pantomime to puppetry to live music, there is something for everybody at Waresley Park Estate this summer.”
