Playgoers are back on a Peterborough stage with Cluedo: the Stage Play
NODA award winners Peterborough Playgoers are set to return to the Key Theatre Studio this May with their own hilarious and high‑energy production of Cluedo: The Stage Play.
The play is based on the screenplay by Jonathan Lynn, written for the stage by Sandy Rustin, inspired by the Paramount Pictures motion picture, and of course rooted in the iconic Hasbro board game, Cluedo.

Following Peterborough Playgoers’ milestone 90th anniversary last year, this ambitious production, running from May 20-23, promises a fresh and riotous twist on the classic murder‑mystery format.
Set in Boddy Manor on a dark and stormy evening, Cluedo brings together a colourful cast of iconic characters, each with something to hide and everything to lose. When their enigmatic host, Mr Boddy, ends up dead, every guest becomes a suspect. As alibis crumble and secrets unravel, the audience is taken on a frantic, laugh‑filled journey of mounting chaos, quick‑fire one‑liners, and outrageous revelations.
This year’s cast features Harvey Jones as the ever‑composed but suspicious Wadsworth, Becki Stirling as the flirtatious French maid, Yvette, and Jane Harriss as "ze cook" - who may or may not be as innocent as she seems.
The infamous suspects are brought to life by Calvin Lawrence (Col. Mustard), Josh Bacon (Rev. Green), Richard Martin (Prof. Plum), Jo Dornan (Miss Scarlett), Heather Knapp (Mrs White), and Karen MacKenzie (Mrs Peacock). Michael Martin takes on the dual role of Mr Boddy/The Bobby, with Chris Butterly completing the line‑up as the Motorist and Chief Inspector.
Making her directorial debut, Claire Buckingham says: “This production has been a joy from start to finish. My incredibly talented cast, the entire Playgoers membership, and our remarkable backstage crew have poured their hearts into this show. Our stage setup is ambitious, and I challenged our Stage Manager, David Edwards, to be as creative and innovative as he liked – we’ve supported each other every step of the way to create something truly special.”
With intrigue, slapstick, suspicion, and more twists than a corkscrew, this is one mystery Peterborough won’t want to miss.
