Getting ready for the return of The Met Lounge

The wait is nearly over and in Peterborough city centre The Met Lounge has plenty planned for when indoor entertainment returns in May.

“We’re reopening on May 21 with a re-scheduled–re-scheduled show for The Contacts –this event was originally set for last November and will now finally happen in May,” said club owner Steve Jason.

“To be fair, most people have been very patient and understood that the constant rescheduling of dates is not of our making and have held onto tickets for shows.

“ The following weekend (29th) we’ve got a sold out show for Noel Gallaghers High Flying Carpets – an acoustic tribute to Noel and of course Oasis. This is another rescheduled event and has sold so well that the band have announced an extra show on the day before, (28th) with reserved tables now on sale.”

The following weekend the club features three very talented local singer songwriters - Joe Bolger, Mark Stevens and Chloe Lorentzen.

“This is something we would like to be doing more of in the future - all seated and featuring local original singer songwriters,” Steve added.

Locals feature again on June 11, with alt rock bands Novastatus and Call to The Faithful hitting the stage – again this was a sold out show back in December and people have held onto tickets for the new date.

Then Bluetones frontman Mark Morris plays his rescheduled shows on June 18 and 19.

“Then, fingers crossed, we can get back to normality with our club sessions,” said Steve.

The first of those is Black Parade - 00’s Emo Anthems on June 25 –it is a huge 00’s emo party – their first in a year and a half.

Expect to hear massive 00’s emo hits from Panic! At The Disco, Jimmy Eat World, My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, Taking Back Sunday, Paramore, All American Rejects, You Me At Six and loads more.

Tickets are on sale now – £5 in advance from skiddle.com/e/35789160
