Fans in Peterborough enjoy England’s winning start to Euro 2020

Many pubs and bars in Peterborough were full to their allowed capacity on Sunday (June 13) as England kicked off their Euro 2020 campaign.

It was a gloriously hot day and many fans decided that sitting outside in pub gardens with friends and family was the best way to take in the action.

They were rewarded too as Raheem Sterling’s goal gave England the perfect start to the tournament, with victory over Croatia.

Pubs and sports clubs across the city screened the match and the Peterborough Telegraph went along to a number of these, such as The Cock Inn, The Lime Tree, House of Feasts and The Dalrod Sports Ground, Bretton Gate to capture fan reaction to the match.
