Manzoor followed a 50-ball ton from a few days earlier with 84 from just 39 balls to help Ketton win the final against Bourne by 27 runs at Stamford Town CC. Man-of-the-match Manzoor also smashed a quickfire ton at the same ground earlier this summer.

Manzoor hammered seven sixes and five fours as Ketton powered their way to 195-3 in their 20 overs. Manzoor’s best mate in all the mayhem was Shakir Mahmood who cracked 65 in 49 balls during a second-wicket stand of 113.

Bourne, who were a little weaker than when winning the Jaidka Cup Final two days earlier, made a valiant run-chase, but fell short on 168-8. They missed the big-hitting prowess of absent captain Peter Morgan.

Bourne did reach 50 in the fourth over, but no batsman could go on and make a big enough individual score.

Tom Dixon did best with a well-struck 33 that included four sixes. Ulrich Van Duyker (3-346) was the best bowler on the night with Will Compton and Manzoor collecting two wickets apiece.

Ketton could be on for a rapid T20 trophy treble as they tackle Uppingham in the Rutland Final at Oakham this evening (July 15) and then meet Ufford Park in the Stamford KO Shield Final on Wednesday (July 20) at Market Deeping CC.

Scores:

Ketton 195-3 (Z. Manzoor 84, S. Mahmood 64).

Bourne 168-8 (T. Dixon 33, T. Bentley 23, S. Evison 23, J. Berry 20, M. Collins 20, U. Van Duyker 3-46, W. Compton 2-33, Z. Manzoor 2-34).
