Two bowlers chase four titles apiece at county indoor finals day in Stamford

The Northants Bowling Federation indoor county finals take place at the Stamford club on Sunday, with two players, Michelle Smith and Tom Newman-Borrett, having qualified in four finals.

Last year the county enjoyed their most successful indoor finals by returning from Lincoln with five trophies, two of them team events.

Ollie Jeapes has gone through to the national finals unchallenged in the county and will be bidding to complete a hat-trick of under 25 singles titles.

At the other end of the age spectrum, Martyn Dolby has to overcome Kevin Vinter in Sunday's county final to retain hopes of winning the national veterans singles for the third year running.

Paul Dalliday, Simon Law and Tristan Morton lifted the national triples last year and are back to defend their county title at the weekend.

Northants have already qualified for the final of the Derbyshire Trophy inter-county championship, where they will meet either Northumberland, last year's runners-up, or Humberside at Lincoln on Saturday, April 25th.

The following day the county executive team will be in action as they bid to win the Eversley Trophy for the fourth year in a row.
