Peterborough Police Club teenager Corey was a Christmas cracker in Norwich
Corey Allen impressed for the Peterborough Police Boxing club at the Norwich City Christmas Cracker show.
The 15 year-old accepted a fight against a local favourite George Howard at 80kg with just 24 hours notice. Allen was also boxing up a year against a more experienced fighter, but delivered a classy display during a cracking contest to dominate every round and claim a unanimous points win to complete a great personal year.

Allen was the only one of four Police boxers to win, but there were impressive displays in defeat from Cruzlee Smallee (12), Harry McQuade and adult fighter Tim Brown.
Brown’s clash with Kevin Antonio from Norwich Lads ABC at 63kg was a thriller with Police Club officials believing their man delivered one of the best performances from one of their fighters all season.
Brown was up against a strong counter-puncher, but appeared to win the last two rounds, and even forced a standing eight count in the final round, but a close points decision went in Antonio’s favour.
Smallee also came up short on a points decision after a crowd-pleasing contest at 47kg, while McQuade was also pipped on points despite a strong performance on the front foot at 43kg after another high quality contest.
The city-based club also had PJ Morgan (13) in action in his second skills (non points-scoring) contest and he impressed his coaches enough to be described as a ‘champion in the making.’
