Peterborough athletics Grand Prix series is cancelled

With all organised athletics cancelled for the foreseeable future, the sad but inevitable decision has been taken to cancel the summer Peterborough 5km Grand Prix Series.

A spokesman for the hugely popular race series said “It is with great regret that after discussion between all the clubs involved in the series it has been decided to cancel the series for this year.

You will all appreciate that the series is an integrated concept and requires a lot of advanced planning to make it work.

Even now in April it seems questionable that any mass participation events will be either allowed or sensible for the foreseeable future.

It is of course also impossible to move the series further back with evenings getting dark early from September.

Rest assured we will be back next year and look forward to your continued support.”
