George Russell, the Formula One driver from the Fens, has been tipped as a future World Champion by current king Lewis Hamilton.

Russell continued another frustrating season in the Istanbul Grand Prix last weekend finishing 16th in his uncompetitive Williams.

Russell has still to pick up a point with just three GPs of 2020 to go. His best finish was 11th in Tuscany in September.

Hamilton won the race in Istanbul to clinch a record equalling seventh world title, but he spoke kindly about Russell, saying: “It’s just been great how he’s handled everything and what he’s done with that car to put it into good positions in qualifying and races.

“I’m impressed with how he’s growing. He really is the future and he could be a future champions for sure.”

The next Grand Prix takes place in Bahrian November 27-29.
