Elizabeth excelled with a ‘virtual’ personal best

Top Peterborough athlete Elizabeth Moorhouse finished the ‘virtual’ shot put season with an impressive personal best last weekend (June 20).

Moorhouse was competing in a virtual international competition organised by Valhalla Throws Academy, which also helped raise money for the NHS and Military Heroes.

And she finished fourth in her under 20 age category with a throw of 12.06m.

The Peterborough & Nene Valley AC member moved up to fourth in the UK Under 17 rankings last season with an another personal best throw of 13.12, using a 3kg shot as opposed to the 4kg shot she now uses in a different age group.

No athletics meetings are expected to take place this summer so the Valhalla Throws Academy organised a virtual competition for all shot put competitors to keep them in shape during lockdown.
