A second term for bowls league president, additional hot weather rules introduced
With no nominations received for the position as President of the Peterborough Bowls League, Deeping BA secretary Alistair Patterson agreed to continue in the role for a second term at the League's annual general meeting.
All the League officers were re-elected en bloc without any new additions to the management committee.

Officers elected: President, Alistair Patterson; chairman, Melvyn Beck; secretary/treasurer, Andy Cox; fixture secretary, Terry Stratton; committee, Brian Davis, Martin Tibbles, Robert Heath, Brian Hutchins.
The League's result secretaries Brian Davis (Weekend), Martin Tibbles (Midweek) and Terry Grimshaw (Club 55) are continuing in their roles next season.
With several matches postponed last season owing to the hot weather, an additional option for team captains has been included in the rules in an attempt to complete matches on the planned dates, but always bearing in mind that the safety of the players is considered paramount.
Captains already had the option of choosing the start the match earlier, either in the morning or in the evening or to take a drinks break during matches. Now they can also agree to shorten matches to the minimum number of ends, which in the case of afternoon matches would be 12 ends instead of the normal 18.
