It was far from easy for those fishing the Whittlesey AA club match held on the Queensway stretch of the Whittlesey Dyke.

First place went to Mel Saggers with a modest 3lb 9oz.

He caught first on pinkie over groundbait then changed to a chopped worm and caster approach which boosted his weight with some nice plump perch.

Runner-up was Andy Bull on 3lb 2oz.

He caught roach on bread-punch, but when this faded changed to pinkie over squatt and a little groundbait on two lines catching steady throughout the match.

A weight of just 2lb 1oz was enough to put Mark Barron third. He also fished pinkie over groundbait.
