Molyneaux takes yet another title

Nobody could touch her at Under 15 level last year as she won national indoor and outdoor titles and an English Schools gold medal.

And on Sunday, competing in the Under 17 age group for the first time, she blitzed the opposition at the North of England Indoor Championships in Sheffield.

She threw a massive 14.38m to win the event with a championship best performance that was also a club record and a new personal best (PB).

There was also a medal for Nene Valley in the senior ladies shot putt as Becki Hall took the bronze with 12.32m.

Sprinter Lily Hughes was another gold medal winner. She romped to victory in the Under 20 ladies 60m in 7.75 seconds which was a club record and a PB.

Rosie Fresen completed the medal collection in Sheffield by claiming the silver in the Under 17 ladies pole vault, clearing 3.15m to equal her PB and set another club indoor record.

James McCrae was also a medallist indoors for Harriers at the weekend.

He took part in the Midlands Counties Indoor Championships, which were also held in Sheffield, and took the gold medal in the Under 20 men’s 800m with a time of 1.58.79.

Also in Sheffield, Jasmine Allen produced two new PBs in her first competition as an Under 17 athlete - 4.99m in the long jump and 8.37 in the 60m - while Sean Garmory clocked a 400m PB of 53.28 and Beth Denial set a 60m hurdles PB of 10.24 and gained fifth place in the Under 20 ladies long jump with 4.95m.

In the South of England Championships at Lee Valley, Georgie Ivens continued her comeback from a serious injury with fourth place in the senior ladies 400m in 57.2.

Callum Crosby ran a PB of 7.42 in the Under 20 men’s 60m and Tash Segal was fourth in the ladies Under 20 200m with a PB of 26.0.
