Lorena lands Euro title

Peterborough's young kick-boxing star Lorena Ismail fought her way to European glory on Sunday.

The nine year-old took part in the the first WMO (World Martial Arts Organisation) European Championships in Rugby and won the gold medal in the girls Under 30kg class.

Lorena, who is sponsored by Mad Dogs Clothing, was coached to victory by her proud father Ali Ismail.

The reigning Peterborough Telegraph Sports Awards Junior Sportswoman of the Year then stepped up to the girls Under 35kg category and despite facing much larger opponents managed to bag herself a bronze medal.

Earlier this year Lorena won a British title.
