Robson initially joined the city side from Hull Stingrays in the 2014-15 campaign.

And the former Great Britain youth international is delighted to get the opportunity to deal with some unfinished business at Planet Ice next season.

The 2019-20 season finished early when Phantoms were in third place in the National League.

“I’m really happy to be back for my seventh year,” Robson declared. “We have some unfinished business to deal with that’s for sure.

“The coach has put together another strong team that will 100% compete for trophies again. I’m excited to get things going again with the boys, after what will have been a long break.”

Coach Slava Koulikov shared Robson’s joy at the news.

Koulikov said: “‘Robbo’ has been here with me from day one.

“And over the years, we’ve seen a young, talented boy mature into a top British defenceman that we can rely on night in night out.

“He’s played a big part in the four trophies that we’ve won here in the last six years.

“He’s a senior guy now and leads the team every time he steps on the ice.

“He has a good offensive side to his game which helps the transition, but at the same time he’s one of the best one on one defensive players in the league.

“Scott fits in the room really well and is well liked by our fans. He’s the guy who sacrifices, blocks shots and does everything for the team and I think the value that he brings to Phantoms is growing each year and I’m really happy to be able to work with him again.”

* Current season ticket holders’ seats are reserved until Friday, June 26.
