Billing will be back at Planet Ice next season after signing a fresh two-year contract and he’s raring to after the coronavirus crisis denied Phantoms the chance to compete in the National League play-offs.

Billing, who scored 50 points (21 goals, 29 assists) last season said: “I’m really excited to be back with the Phantoms.

“I’d like to thank the owners, Jo and Dave Lane, and Slava for giving me the opportunity to return.

“With the season coming to an abrupt halt last year, I feel like we have some unfinished business.

“There’s a real family feel around the club and we have a great group in the locker room, which made it an easy decision to stay.

“I’m looking forward to re-uniting with the boys and hopefully we can build on the positives from last year and bring home some silverware.

“I can’t wait to get back out there in front of our great fans.”

Phantoms coach Slava Koulikov rates Billing highly so he’s delighted the classy centre is returning for the 2020-21 campaign.

Koulikov said: “Glenn is a dream of a player to coach. Everything he does has to be 100%. Anything less in terms of commitment, fitness, competitiveness is not good enough for him.

“Over the last three seasons Glenn has developed into a top player in the league and plays a very big role on our team. He is a very intelligent centre, who plays well at both ends of the ice and provides great links between all players.

“Glenn’s ability to read and anticipate situations gives him an edge and I am heavily reliant on him in all important situations.

“Glenn leads by example and reminds me of Luke Ferrara.

“I said when I worked with Luke I would clone him to have so if I could I would now clone Glenn as well.

“Another important thing is that he wants to continue to improve & develop his game.”

Billing has also played for Romford, Swindon and MK. He has also won GB junior caps.
