Captain and all-time leading scorer awarded a testimonial by Peterborough Phantoms who also sign a highly-rated youngster
Phantoms’ captain and all-time leading scorer Luke Ferrara has been awarded a testimonial game for his outstanding and ongoing commitment and service to the club.
Ferrara began his career within the junior set-up at the club and quickly progressed through the age groups and into the senior side.

The Great Britain International forward was part of the 2014/15 EPL play-off winning side in the final season of his first spell with the Phantoms.
Since then, he’s iced for the Sheffield Steelers, Coventry Blaze, Bordeaux, Cracovia Krakow and the Nottingham Panthers and built an outstanding career for himself, which saw him win the EIHL, take a place in the 19/20 EIHL All-Star Team as the EIHL’s Top Scorer, collect a silver medal in Poland, and form part of the Great Britain 2017/18 World Championship D1A gold medal winning side.
Ferrara’s return to Phantoms ahead of the 2023-24 season was seen as a huge coup and he quickly showed why as 106 points in 54 regular season games set his side on its way to the NIHL National Play-offs. Ferrara scored the winning penalty shot in the Grand Final against Leeds.
He’s now Phantoms’ all-time leading goal and points scorer, totals he’ll undoubtedly add to after signing a three year extension during last season.
And now he’s been awarded with a testimonial game for his contribution to the club, recognising his years of commitment, leadership, goals and points.
“I am honoured to have been awarded a testimonial by the club,” Ferrara said This club means so much to me and I never thought I’d be in this position when I was growing up watching the Phantoms play. I’m going to put everything into this season and then hopefully celebrate with a testimonial at the end of it!”
The date of Ferrara’s testimonial will be confirmed soon. You can follow his testimonial Instagram page (@ferrara19testimonial).
Defenceman Callum Buglass has also been awarded a testimonial by Phantoms after 10 years service to the club.
**Phantoms have signed highly-rated 20-year-old defenceman Henry Newell on a two-way agreement with the Nottingham Panthers.
Phantoms head coach Ashley Tait said: “Getting Henry is great for us. We weren’t the only interested party and he’s definitely keen to get established with us and in the league.”
