Yaxley goal machine reaches 199 in big win, March are up to second, defeats for bottom club Peterborough Northern Star and Whittlesey Athletic

Dan Cotton took his Yaxley FC goals tally to 199 with a hat-trick in a 5-0 win over North Leigh at In2itive Park last night (October 27).

The big victory took the Cuckoos up into mid-table in Division One Central of the Southern League. Jordan Macleod and Tom Waumsley also netted in front of a crowd of 69, over 200 fewer than watched the Saturday defeat at home to Bedford who had Posh legend Craig Mackail-Smith in their line-up.

Whittlesey Athletic warmed up for their big FA Vase date on Saturday (October 31) with a 3-2 home defeat at the hands of Harrowby in United Counties Division One.

Peterborough Northern Star are bottom of the Premier Division with just two points from 10 matches following a 1-0 home loss to Wellingborough Town.

March Town are second in Division One North of the Eastern Counties League after a 4-0 home win over Haverhill last night. Craig Gillies (2), Danny Emmington and Jack Friend scored for the Hares.
