The 24-year-old midfielder signed a two-year contract at Sixfields today (July 21).

Cobblers swooped for Beautyman after the player spent the early part of this week on trial at League One side Oldham Athletic.

Beautyman played 45 minutes of ‘The Latics’ friendly against Preston on Tuesday, but failed to impress. It’s understood a player Posh signed from Welling United in November 2014 wasn’t keen on moving so far north anyway.

Beautyman, who scored five goals in 45 Posh appearances, joins central defender Gaby Zakuani as players to move from Posh to Northampton this summer.

Cobblers have paid an undisclosed fee for his services.

Cobblers manager Rob Page told the Northampton Chronicle: “Harry is a very good addition for us,

“He is a lively character and a player who has a decent amount of experience in League One. He is also a good age, who will get better and better, and I think we are signing him at a good time.

“He is a box to box midfielder who creates things, makes things happen and can score a goal or two so he will add to our attacking options.

“He attracted a fair amount of interest over the summer and we are pleased we have been able to bring him to the club.”
