The successful One Touch Football Academy is recruiting for the 2020-21 season.

Students can now enrol at an Academy based at the Grange, home of leading Peterborough League side Netherton United.

Courses are open to current Year 11 pupils (school leavers) who want to train, learn and gain qualifications in a football environment.

The Academy offers a minumum of 12 hours football a week. They operate a four-day week and play in a number of different league at various levels.

The Academy offers a number of qualifications to students, notably from a sport vocational course designed to aid the chances of finding jobs in the sporting sector.

The Academy hope to offer pre-season training camps throughout August as long as UK Government guidance allows them to.

It’s also hoped the students will be allowed to gather soon for their end-of-season awards.

Academy director, Glenn Vaughan said “The year came to a quick end following the closure of the site, but this hasn’t stopped our students as they have continued to work hard at home and the majority have finished the vocation course. “This is a real credit to themselves and their work ethic.”

“The new qualifications we have put in place for September 2020 will offer college and sixth form leavers some hands on training whilst still being able to play in our weekly fixtures”.
