Spalding United FC strengthen at both ends of the pitch, Bourne Town seek a new manager

Spalding United have strengthened both ends of the pitch as they build a squad capable of challenging for Northern Premier League honours.

Power forward Gregg Smith and high-class former club captain Nathan Stainfield are the latest players to sign on at the Sir Halley Stewart Field.

Former Posh star Gaby Zakuani is the Spalding manager. He said: “These two will bring a lot to the club on and off the pitch. We beat a lot of clubs to their signatures.

“Gregg is a proven goalscorer at the level and will give us physicality up top, while Nathan will put his body on the line to get a result. He is a true leader.”

Smith moved from Gainsborough while Stainfield finished last season at Stamford AFC.

**United Counties Division One side Bourne Town are seeking a new manager after parting company with Nathan Arnold by mutual consent.
