Ben Alnwick: A crucial save from James McClean at 1-0 down in the first-half. No chance with two fine finishes by Berahino. Came off his line well to claim crosses 7

Lawrie Wilson: Played at right-back and looked like he was going to get run ragged by McClean early on. Recovered to perform okay, but substituted in a tactical re-shuffle at half time 6

Michael Smith: Played with great energy up and down the left side and found some very promising attacking positions which were spoilt by his preference for his right foot. But he played well and saw one good scoring opportunity saved 7

Michael Bostwick: Terrific return to action after a sluggish start to the game. Won many headers and tackles and made a superb block to thwart Anichebe in the dying seconds. A real leader of this team and set up both goals 9

Ricardo Santos: One horrible error when he was bailed out by the excellence of his goalkeeper. Switched to right-back for the second half which was a surprise, but he coped well and played a small part in the second equaliser 6

Jack Baldwin: Started the game in a holding midfield role and it didn’t really work despite his coolness on the ball. Back to central defence for the second-half where he played with calm assurance 7

Chris Forrester: The way he retains possession under the severest of pressure is remarkable. Not his best passing display, but he put a decent shift in on the left side of the midfield diamond 6

Harry Beautyman: He lost possession a few times in the opening 20 minutes and he was eventually punished by Berahino’s first goal. He never hid though before he was taken off at half-time 6

Erhun Oztumer: Posh’s brightest spark before the break. Tough, physical opponents didn’t faze him and he never stopped trying to spark the Posh attack into life. Surprisingly substituted midway through the second-half, but his departure didn’t harm the team 7

Shaquile Coulthirst: Worked his socks off all game against a tough, rugged back four and was rewarded with his first Posh goal. It was a quality finish though as he placed, rather than tried to blast, his volley into the net from a tricky angle 8

Lee Angol: Like his new strike partner he didn’t stop trying to put the opposition back four under pressure. Put his physical attributes to good use. Good effort considering the standard of the opposition 7

Substitutes:

Martin Samuelsen: (for Wilson, 46 mins): Some delicious moments of skill among some quiet periods. Almost won the game late on 7

Jon Taylor: (for Beautyman, 46 mins): Very bright, until his error looked to have cost Posh a replay. What a response though. Terrific finish to get Posh back on terms within a minute 7

Marcus Maddison: (for Oztumer, 63 mins) Looked up for this game. A decent 25-minute contribution
