POSH REACTION: Better performances, but still way off their best form

But they were again found wanting overall as Swindon claimed the three League One points with a 2-1 win thanks to a goal seven minutes from time.

Stuart Moore: A competent debut, Beaten only by two quality strikes at goal, but handled everything else very comfortably and confidently 6

Michael Smith: Much improved on recent efforts, particularly going forward in the first-half. Left two-on-one against Swindon attackers far too often in the second half and predictably found that a struggle. Captain for the day 7

Andrew Fox: He looks a very steady footballer, but it’s not certain that left-back will be his preferred position. Found some excellent crossing positions, but found it difficult to clear the first defender. Defended solidly 6

Ricardo Santos: Kept things simple and he was far more effective for it. Defended his area well and cleared the ball rather than trying to dribble out of defence which is usually a good idea 6

Gaby Zakuani: Won most of his headers including an attacking one from a second-half corner that fleetingly looked like it was going to give Posh a precious lead. Referee wiped that out. A couple of good clearances from dangerous crosses 6

Harry Beautyman: He’s a real grafter, but the position at the base of the diamond requires someone who can be relied upon to collect the ball under pressure and use it wisely. Not sure that’s Beautyman’s game, but his attitude is first-class 6

Martin Samuelsen: He enjoyed the fact that Swindon play a possession game rather than a tough-tackling one. Showed some terrific touches in and around the Swindon penalty area, but he couldn’t quite work an opening for others and his own shots at goal were charged down by defenders 6

Erhun Oztumer: Apart from one lovely pass that led to a Coulibaly chance in the first half the little man struggled again. No shortage of effort, but the magical moments of earlier in the season have all but dried up. Substituted early in the second-half for a 17 year-old 5

Marcus Maddison: Again he was the most dangerous attacking threat. Won and scored the early penalty, but was then guilty of wasting a couple of good opportunities, either with a poor cross or a wayward shot. He’s a key man now the club’s most reliable goalscorer has departed 7

Shaquile Coulthirst: Disappointing until he woke up in the final 15 minutes when he became a constant threat with his direct running and trickery. Another to see late goalbound shots blocked by defenders 6

Souleymane Coulibaly: His movement is all over the place. He’s either off-side or he delays his runs for too long. It’s a shame, because he has a terrific approach to the game, but he must be very difficult to play alongside 5
