MacAnthony said: “Kgosi is out of contract at the end of the season. We have made him multiple offers which he has turned down.

“I’m surprised he has turned the chance of job security down as he has been injury prone in recent seasons.

“But he has made his decision and he can leave if he can find himself a club. He came through our Academy so we are entitled to compensation.”

MacAnthony also revealed that the club have taken up the option of an extra year on midfielder Erhun Oztumer’s contract. The club and player will sit down to thrash out a longer contract in the summer.
