Young Peterborough United defender signs a new deal

Young Peterborough United defender Fabian Claxton has signed a one-year professional contract at London Road.

The 19 year-old Academy graduate made his first-team debut in a 2-1 win at Crawley in last season's Vertu Trophy competition, but soon picked up a knee injury that ended his season. He expects to be fit for the start of pre-season training.

Claxton told the Posh website: “Making my debut in the first team was the undoubted highlight of the campaign. I had no idea I would be starting until quite late, but it was a great experience and I enjoyed it.

"I have played a lot of Under 18s and Under 21s football, but when you step into the first team environment, you know it's different.

"I am grateful for the faith shown in me by the coaches and the club and I am now focussed on coming back and hopefully showing what I can do in pre-season.”

There is an option for a second year within Claxton’s contract.
