It’s the toughest season to predict as the biggest clubs don’t appear to have recruited well, while the smaller clubs will be relying more heavily than usual on loan players given the perilous state of finances in the lower divisions.
Posh seem well equipped to go well again if they can replace Ivan Toney adequately, but how well?
Here is my predicted finishing order for the 2020-21 season.

21.
4th HULL CITY: I’d written them off when they came down as they looked a club in chaos, bit manager Grant McCann (pictured) has made good signings for League One level and they look serious contenders to me. Expect the Tigers to roar into the play-offs at least. Photo: Midlands

22.
3d FLEETWOOD TOWN: Well coached and they don’t seem to be any weaker than last season so no reason to expect anything other than a sustained promotion push again. A small club who punch above their weight as they reportedly pay handsome salaries. Photo: Midlands

23.
2nd POSH: A promotion-winning defence is in place, the midfield is strong and of course the manager Darren Ferguson (pictured) has been there and done it on more than one occasion at League One level. There are too many imponderables to be certain of any side going up, but Posh have as big a chance as anyone else. Photo: Midlands

24.
1st OXFORD UNITED: Karl Robinson's (pictured) Oxford blew a big chance of promotion last season when failing to overcome a poor Wycombe side in the League One play-off final, but providing their hangover isn’t Akinfenwa-sized I see no reason why they won’t be serious contenders again and they could well win the title. Matty Taylor will score 20 goals if he stays fit. Photo: Graham Hunt/ProSportsImages
