The co-owner didn’t name names, but there are several players who have failed to reach their expected levels and who need to improve quickly to help improve a season that has become both frustrating and disappointing.
And it’s also true to say some players have found decent form this season.
Here are the successes and the disappointments of the Posh season so far.
Let us know which player has most exceeded your expectations and who has been the biggest disappointment.
9. DISAPPOINTMENT: KELL WATTS
A Newcastle United centre-back who played a key role for last season’s League One champions Wigan, but he’s started just two third tier games in his loan spell at London Road and looks set to return to St James’ Park in January. A shame as Posh are in dire need of a reliable left-footed centre-back. Photo: Joe Dent
10. SUCCESS: KWAME POKU
Poku has delivered moments of class when scoring or assisting this season. He looks to have a bright attacking future. Photo: Joe Dent:a
11. DISAPPOINTMENT: DAVID AJIBOYE
Hasn't started a League One game since signing from Sutton United in the close season despite Posh playing a 4-3-3 system that supposedly suited him for much of it. Photo: Joe Dent
12. DISAPPOINTMENT: BEN THOMPSON
This midfielder was a major target for Posh in the summer, but after a bright start he's struggled to hold down a place in his preferred position. Photo: Joe Dent
