The forward’s ban for historic tweets has asked questions of the club’s recruitment in the summer as now Posh do not have a senior striker following Jack Marriott’s severe hamstring injury that could keep him out of up to five months.
Ricky-Jade Jones, who is only 19 himself, is expected to be out until the new year and even Under 18s star forward Lewis Darlington has been ruled out with a broken arm suffered in a match last week.
So, who are Posh’s options?

5. HAMEED ISHOLA
Rather alarmingly, one of the only youth strikers at the club that is fit. The 18-year-old is actually on loan at Bedford Town at the moment but has been involved in youth matches for Posh as well. He scored twice on his debut in a 5-2 win over Waltham Abbey but was sent off last week against Ware, so still has a two-game suspension to serve even if Posh felt the need to call him back. 6. JOSH KNIGHT
The curveball. One of the biggest things Posh will miss about Clarke-Harris is his height and the ability to battle for balls in at the top of the pitch. The final ten minutes of the Cardiff match showed how crucial that could be, as an option in matches when Posh are under pressure, might they need a tall player to act as an outball? Likelihood: 1/10.

7. FREE AGENT
Posh could always go into the transfer market and pick up a free agent, as Preston did with Connor Wickham recently. The likes of Andy Carroll, Hal Robson-Kanu, Maxime Biamou and Jerome Sinclair are all available for nothing. The Marriott injury makes a signing slightly more likely as the club need options even when Clarke-Harris comes back. (Photo by Alex Livesey/Getty Images). Likelihood: 4/10.
