Here’s what happened next to that successful Posh team.
Posh: Mark Tyler, Richard Scott, Adam Drury (sub Ritchie Hanlon, 44 mins), Andy Edwards, Simon Rea, Steve Castle, Jon Cullen, Gareth Jelleyman, David Farrell, David Oldfield, Andy Clarke (sub Francis Green, 89 mins). Unused subs: Bart Griemink, centre-back Matthew Wicks and midfielder Matthew Gill.

SIMON REA: The centre-back played almost 200 times for Posh before leaving in 2005 when he fell into non-league football with Nuneaton.

6.
STEVE CASTLE: The midfielder left Posh straight after the Wembley final to finish his career at Leyton Orient while coaching at the West Ham Academy. He is now the manager of Royston Town in the Southern League Central Premier Division, a big rival of Peterborough Sports. Photo: Midlands

7.
JON CULLEN: This midfielder was a decent player, but his subsequent seasons at Posh were dogged by injury. He scored six goals in 53 games before returning to the North-East with Darlington.

8.
GARETH JELLEYMAN: Gareth was a left-back who started in midfield at Wembley. A promising career was hampered by a broken leg and he left Posh after 123 games in 2003. He had lengthy spells at Mansfield and Boston United and now coaches football in schools.
