Welcome return to action for Peterborough United long-term injury victim, and others are also close to a comeback
Rio Adebisi is due to make a welcome return to action for Peterborough United in a Professional Development Under 21 League game at Coventry City on Wednesday.
Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony broke the news on the latest edition of his ‘Hard Truth’ podcast.
Adebisi moved to Posh from Crewe Alexandra for £500k in June 2024, but the left-back has made just one first-team substitute appearance at Stockport County because of two knee injuries which required surgery.
MacAnthony also revealed Posh captain and centre-back Sam Hughes should return from his long-term injury issue in three weeks and that winger Declan Frith is a couple of weeks away from his return.
MacAnthony revealed new Posh manager Luke Williams is a big fan of Frith who Posh signed from Swiss Side FC Thun last summer.
MacAnthony said: “Luke has been pleasantly surprised by the quality of the squad. He believes there are many excellent technical players and he has been raving about Declan.
"Luke likes to play with wingers and two of the four we have are currently injured, Cian Hayes and Declan.”
Posh only have one fit specialist left-back in Harley Mills.
