Here are my top 15 signings by third tier clubs so far, in reverse order of excellence.
Transfers completed up to and including July 9.
9. BARRY BANNAN
His little legs have probably gone a bit, but the midfielder is a cult hero at Sheffield Wednesday and could lift the team and fans after the club's shocking 2025-26 season in the Championship. He has re-joined Wednesday after a brief spell at Millwall. (Photo by George Wood/Getty Images) Photo: George Wood
10. FRANKIE KENT
The former Posh promotion winner from League One looked as good as ever in the Scottish Premiership with Hearts last season. Oxford United did well to pick the centre-back up for nothing. Photo: WM Sport Media
11. ADAM PHILLIPS
A consistent goalscoring midfielder with Barnsley who has moved across Yorkshire to Bradford City. Scored an FA Cup goal at Liverpool last season. Photo: Jan Kruger
12. MACAULAY GILLESPHEY
This powerful centre-back has dropped down a division from Charlton to Bradford City and will suit the way 'The Bantams' like to play. Photo: Jess Hornby
