A Vertu Trophy last 32 tie at League Two high fliers Swindon Town would seem to be the ideal opportunity to experiment, but it’s also important to manage the minutes of some senior players as well.
It’s a tough task picking the right team, but here’s what the PT would do. We’re sticking with a 4-2-3-1 formation...

5. TOM O'CONNOR
Ideally this central defender would get a rest, but Posh are struggling for an alternative unless Lucca Mendonca or Fabian Claxton get another run-out. O'Connor and Okagbue could easily play together in a League One game so that should take priority. Photo: DAVID LOWNDES

6. BEN WOODS
A chance for this midfielder to regain the form he showed in the middle of last month. Photo: DAVID LOWNDES

7. MATTHEW GARBETT
It's a risk playing your best player in this game, but he's smart enough to look after himself. He's a potential matchwinner in the advanced midfield role who might be needed. Photo: David Lowndes

8. JIMMY-JAY MORGAN
I don't see the Chelsea loanee getting in the League One side ahead of Garbett in the number 10 role or Harry Leonard in the sole striker position, but he's too good a player not to be a regular starter. I wonder if it's worth giving him a run on the wing as an experiment? Photo: s
