That got us thinking about Posh signings who exceeded expectations to become hits at London Road. Here are many such players with nominations from Posh fans on social media and from PT Posh writer Alan Swann.
Tomorrow (January 3) we’ll cover the players we thought would be good signings, but turned out to be big disappointments.
No current Posh players have been included apart from one from a previous spell at London Road.
21. MARCUS MADDISON
Ignore how it ended at Posh and remember how good Maddison was in some pretty ropey sides. Ask Jack Marriott how many goals he scored from Maddison assists. And all from a player, unknown outside non-league circles and the North East at the time, taken from Gateshead for just £250k.
