The Peterborough United comeback kings and those who flopped after returning to London Road

Kevin Russell’s return to Peterborough United has been warmly received by fans who remember the success he had alongside Darren Ferguson in the London Road dugout.

The pair won three promotions together in 2007-08, 2008-09 and 2010-11, the latter after they had left and then come back to the club.

But people do also do say you should ‘never go back.’

How true is that as far as Posh folk are concerned? We’ve had a look at many who have left London Road and then returned at a later date to see how successful they were. Were they big HITS, bad MISSES or just OK?

Some club legends couldn’t live up to their reputations….
