Current chairman Darragh MacAnthony inherited Keith Alexander as Posh manager in October 2016, but dismissed him three months later in favour of a rookie boss called Darren Ferguson.
MacAnthony has made 10 managerial appointments in total and they have lasted on average 18.5 months apiece. Ferguson’s second spell in charge went on for the longest at 49 months, but the reigns of Mark Cooper and Jim Gannon lasted just three months each.
Gannon and Ferguson are the only two Posh managers in the MacAnthony era to resign. The rest were sacked.
Here’s a rundown of the MacAnthony managers...

5. DARREN FERGUSON
Fergie made up his differences with the chairman who sacked him two years earlier and returned to London Road in a blaze of publicity in January, 2011. He immediately led the side to promotion through the League One play-offs and kept Posh in the Championship comfortably with a golden generation of players. Suffered an agonising relegation the following season and missed out in the League One play-offs 12 months later. Became jaded and was dismissed after a terrible display and defeat at MK Dons in February, 2015. Length of stay: 49 months. League playing record: P194 W75 D37 L82. Percentage of available points won: 45.02.

6. DAVE ROBRTSON
Appointed as caretaker-manager following Ferguson's departure in February, 2015 and after a strong start he was made permament boss in May of that year. Six weeks into a new season and he was sacked in September, 2015. Length of stay: 4 months (20 matches including caretaker-stint). League playing record: P20 W7 D5 L8. Percentage of available points won: 52.38.

7. GRAHAM WESTLEY
Enjoyed a great start after his appointment in September, 2015, but it went rapidly downhill after Christmas and he was sacked in April, 2016. He's pictured with assistant manager Grant McCann. Length of stay: 7 months. Percentage of available points won: 45.37.

8. GRANT MCCANN
After two successful spells as a caretaker-boss McCann was finally given the manager's job in May, 2016. Posh finished 11th in his first season in charge and were 10th the following season, six points outside the play-off places, when he was sacked, after a winless run of seven matches, in February, 2018. McCann signed Jack Marriott (pictured) in the summer of 2017. Length of stay: 22 months. League playing record: P79 W29 D22 L28. Percentage of available points won: 47.22
