RATINGS: Peterborough United goalkeeper was comfortably the best player in a 4-0 defeat

Debutant goalkeeper Dai Cornell was the clear man-of-the-match for Peterborough United in a 4-0 Carabao Cup first round defeat at the hands of League One Plymouth Argyle at the Weston Homes Stadium tonight (August 12).

There was little else to cheer for the Posh fans who were back at London Road for the first time in eight months.

RATINGS KEY: 10-Brilliant, 9-Outstanding, 8-Very Good, 7-Good, 6-Okay, 5-Poor, 4 Very Poor.

9. JOEL RANDALL

He certainly moves like a classy player. There were some bright moments in this game, although little end product. 6 Photo: Midlands

10. KWAME POKU

A very tame debut for the teenage forward. Found it hard to get in the game and substituted early in the second half 5.

11. RICKY-JADE JONES

The young striker has had little luck with injury in the last 18 months. Forced off early again here. 6

12. IDRIS KANU

(Sub for Jones, 18 mins): Sent on as a lone striker and predictably struggled. 5
