Posh also reached the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup before losing to Premier League Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.

Posh youth team boss Matthew Etherington said: “Proud of all of the players that have represented our Under 18 group this season. It wasn’t meant to be today, but the resilience, in difficult circumstances has been incredible. They should be hugely proud of what has been achieved and the progress they’ve made.”
