The club says it will carry out its mid-season promises to those 2020-21 season ticket holders who declined a full refund when it became clear fans were not going to be allowed to watch matches live in the current campaign.

Season ticket holders were given three options.

Those who opted to donate their season ticket cost to the club's Academy (option 1) face a small price rise, but will have their names emblazoned on the wall of the planned training ground dome and be able to attend FA Youth Cup matches free of charge.

Those who opted instead for a price freeze over the next 2-4 years (option 2) will have that wish granted.

These prices will stand regardless of what division Posh are playing in next season.

Those 2020-21 season ticket holders who opted for a full refund (option 3) will pay up to £40 more for their 2021 ticket.

Only around 10 per cent of season ticket holders opted for a full refund.

Under-12s will still be eligible for a free season ticket if accompanied by an adult.

The new 'Pandemic Promise' reads "in the event that Government guidance enforces a capacity restriction at the Weston Homes Stadium at any point during the 2021/22 season, then we promise to offer a pro-rata refund for any games missed"

The club's full statement on season tickets is as follows: "The football club are excited to welcome you back next season!

"This season hasn’t been the same without you and we are delighted that all of you will be back in the stands supporting the Posh for next season.

"Everybody at Peterborough United were delighted with the number of fans who showed their support to the club this season by choosing option 1 and option 2 (over 90%).

"As promised, there will be a price freeze on season tickets for those who chose option 2 and this incredible support has allowed us to offer those who chose option 1 a discount on their renewal too.

"The last 12 months have been incredibly challenging and we understand some supporters will be reluctant to commit to a season ticket due to the forever changing circumstances we all find ourselves in due to COVID-19.

"Therefore, we have introduced a 'Pandemic Promise' which means in the event that Government guidance enforces a capacity restriction at the Weston Homes Stadium at any point during the 2021/22 season, then we promise to offer a pro-rata refund for any games missed.

"Peterborough United were recently awarded the EFL Family Club of the Year accolade and as part of the club’s continued commitment to the 'Fans of the Future', we are pleased to confirm that for the third season running season tickets for under 12s will be FREE when accompanied by an adult.

"Credit for the five missed games in the 2019/20 season have been added to eligible supporters' ticket accounts automatically and it can be used against purchasing your season ticket.

"All those supporters who selected option 3 to receive a pro-rata refund for games missed this season, have been refunded for the remainder of the campaign. Option 3 supporters’ seats will also be reserved until 31st May.

"The football club understands that the pandemic has put a strain on personal finance so we are pleased to confirm that supporters can once again take advantage of our season ticket finance option to spread the payments over four or 10 months.
