Brown missed Saturday’s 1-0 win at Charlton wit a hamstring issue which had led to speculation he wouldn’t play again this season.

Ethan Hamilton deputised for Brown at the Valley with Louis Reed replacing him midway through the second half.

But Posh boss Darren Ferguson delivered an upbeat fitness assessment on the on-loan Huddersfield Town player this morning.

“Reece has half a chance of playing,” Ferguson revealed. “He’ll be assessed tomorrow and if he’s fit I have a big decision to make.

“I went with Ethan at Charlton because of the extra energy he gives, but I turned to Louis because we needed the composure and calmness on the ball he brings.

“They are two very different players.”

Posh report no other injury concerns apart from goalkeeper Christy Pym. Experienced Nathan Thompson was taken off for tactical reasons at Charlton.

Teenage centre-back Ronnie Edwards is fully fit again and is in contention for a place on the substitutes’ bench.
